The Merrill Area Concert Association (MACA) will present their final event of the season at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, in the Merrill High School Auditorium.
Billy McGuigan and his Pop Rock Orchestra will present a high-energy concoction of 70’s and 80’s rock ‘n’ roll mega-hits in a unique, live concert experience. Think of 1970’s jumpsuit Elvis, the Moody Blues who put symphonic interludes in the middle of a rock song, and Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) with an electric horn and string section – rock & roll was transformed! Billy takes the audience on a journey through decades of classic hits, backed by a rock orchestra that matches his energy in force.
Attendance at all MACA events is open to members only, but membership is open to all. Purchasing a season membership supports the association’s ongoing mission to provide live performances by professional musicians for the entertainment and betterment of the Merrill area community. And MACA has a reciprocal arrangement with the neighboring concert associations in Medford and Antigo, meaning MACA members are also entitled to attend performances there. Occasionally a group that is performing in Merrill one night will perform in Antigo or Medford the following night, organizers say. That means members have the chance to see another showing or to see a show in Antigo or Medford if they have a schedule conflict, all included in MACA membership.
