The Merrill City Band usually begins its season on Memorial Day, but this year they got an early start. “The band has a long history with our veterans, and members were honored to be part of the Loyalty Day Ceremony in April and the Memorial Day ceremony in May,” said Merrill City Band Director Linda Becker.
Now it’s time to kick off the summer series of Wednesday night concerts in the Normal Park gazebo. The weekly concerts will begin on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, a5 7 p.m. and continue each Wednesday evening through Aug. 9.
“Bring a lawn chair and come on down to the park for an evening of concert band music,” Becker said. “There will be something for everyone, and the 50/50 raffle will be in full swing. Hope to see you there!”
