Applications are due Oct. 1, 2021
“Born out of COVID-19 in an effort to build something positive out of the pandemic,” Wisconsin Illinois Senior Housing Inc. (WISH) is accepting applications for their WISH Rising Stars Scholarship through Oct. 1, 2021.
“Many high school students applied for jobs at WISH senior care facilities to help others during what turned out to be one of the most difficult and lonely times for seniors,” a WISH press release said. “This is WISH’s way of giving back to our communities and investing in our next generation.”
Although not required, students with an interest in health care, long term care, or post-acute care are encouraged to apply. The scholarship is open to Wisconsin and Illinois high school students and WISH employees. Bell Tower Residence in Merrill is a WISH employer.
Since Fall 2020, approximately $67,000 has been awarded to 40 recipients.
Fall 2021 awards will be announced on or around Nov. 1, 2021.
