Jozelyn Gebert, Merrill High School (MHS) Senior, has been named Athlete of the Week for the week of Mar. 25, 2021. Jozelyn is currently on the Merrill Bluejays Varsity Dance Team and has been on the team for four years. As a member of the Varsity Dance Team this year, Joz has participated in jazz and hip hop competitions, and went on to Regionals. She also cheered last year and played Junior Varsity Soccer during her freshman year. Outside of school sports, Joz has been dancing since she was two years old and her parents enrolled her in a tap dancing class at Dorinda’s Dance Studio (now Brooke’s) here in Merrill. Since then, she has been dancing tap, hip hop, lyrical, jazz, and pointe and is an accomplished dancer.
When she is not dancing or in school, Joz works part time at Culvers, attends Highland Community Church, and hangs out with her friends.
Jozelyn is the daughter of Christina and Luke Gebert of Merrill. She has a 3.21 GPA and plans to attend Northcentral Technical College after graduation to become a Registered Nurse and hopes to work locally at one of the Aspirus facilities.
