Friske attains rank of Eagle Scout

Evan Michael Friske, son of Donald and Elizabeth Friske, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on Sept. 29, 2013 at Bible Presbyterian Church in Merrill. Evan started his Scouting journey in 2001 as a first-grader with Cub Scout Packs 403 at Washington Elementary School.
As a Boy Scout with Troop 503, Evan earned awards, participated in various community service projects, and held various leadership positions including Patrol leader and Troop representative to the Order of the Arrow. He became a member of the Order of the Arrow brotherhood , attended NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training), went on two High Adventures (Juneau, Alaska, and Boundary Waters), attended numerous Cub/Boy Scout summer camps, and participated in Troop service projects (Scouting for Food, Adopt-a-Highway). In addition, he earned 23 Merit Badges.
In preparation to achieve the rank of Eagle, Evan planned, proposed and led other Scouts in Buckthorn, an invasive species, removal at Bible Presbyterian Church. His Eagle Board of Review was completed on Sept. 13, 2013.
During his Eagle response, Evan encouraged the younger scouts “to stick with it because once you are an Eagle Scout you will always be an Eagle Scout. No one can ever take that away from you.”
