Carlene J. Marquardt

Carlene “Dee Dee” Jean Marquardt, of Merrill, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

She was born December 30, 1939, in Merrill, to the late Carl & Genevieve (Barney) Rampart. She married Philip James Marquardt on September 14, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. He preceded her in death in October of 1997.
Dee Dee was very mechanically inclined, working at Northern Wire, Hurd Millwork and Wire Products Manufacturing in Merrill. She enjoyed bingo, golf, spending time with grandchildren, mostly in their younger years. Dee Dee was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill and also of the C.B. Ham Radio Club. She had a special place in her heart for all her cats and dogs.
Survivors include her children: Kelly Marquardt and Laurie (Mark) Knorr, Merrill; four grandchildren: Derek. Amanda (Jonathon), Mi Kayla and Genna; two great-grandchildren: Mychael and Landyn; sister: Sherry (Phil) Werner, Ringle; nieces: Cindy (Willie) Kimmons, Tammy Engel and Nancy (Ned) Bryan; nephews: Troy Miller and Todd (Tracy) Miller; great-nephews and nieces: Shaun (Becky) Kimmons, Molly, Britni and Mitch. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Gen Rampart, husband, Philip Marquardt, sister, Sharon “Tootie” Olivotti, and great-niece, Melissa Zimmerman.
Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 17, 2010 at Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM Friday before the service at the funeral home. Memorial may be given to the family for their wishes. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
