The Hatchet hockey team was in the driver’s seat, leading 2-1 through two periods in last Tuesday’s game at Lakeland.
But the T-Birds scored twice on the power play in the third to capture the 3-2 win.
“We controlled the whole game and then the penalties got us,” THS coach Jake Flohr said.
Lakeland”s Bruno Borow­czyk tied it up with 7:34 left and Austin Oungst tallied the game-winner with 4:55 remaining.
After a scoreless first period, Tomahawk had grabbed a 2-0 lead with goals from Matt Gerber and Sam Heim. Geber notched a shorthanded goal just 2:20 into the second and Craig Swan set up Heim with 6:00 elapsed.
But Lakeland’s Tyler Perterson cut it to 2-1, before the third-period goals.
Tomahawk fell to 3-2 overall and 0-2 in the GNC with the loss.
