Barbara Graap-Morien entered her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 12, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Barbara was 74 years old.
She married Harold ‘Bleep’ Graap on July 13, 1954. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1978.
Barb worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Company for awhile. She also waitressed and bartended for a short time. She worked at Northern Door for 10 years and then as a CNA at Pine Crest Nursing Home until her retirement. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Barb enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family and friends. She also played cards with her friends at Jenny Towers where she lived, and liked to shoot pool on Saturday nights at the Round-Up with her children. She also enjoyed playing Yahtzee.
Survivors include three sons, Robert (Sandy) Graap, of Merrill, Bruce (Joyce) Graap, of Merrill, and Jack (Linda) Graap, of Rothschild; three daughters, Patricia (Ted) Haring, of Wausau, Susan (Joel) Koehler, of Merrill, and Betty (Kyle) Tesch, of Wausau; 16 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Barb is further survived by three sisters-in-law, Johanna Leih, Shirley Graap, and Rose Lakes; and her two special friends, Jean Lange and Patricia Sandley. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth Pruett; three brothers, Edward, Franklin, and Larry Pruett; two sons, Joseph and Brian Graap; one daughter, Teresa Graap; and her second husband, LaVerne G. Morien.
We have all been blessed to have her in our lives and she will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. R. Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Burial will take place in Merrill Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 9:30 A.M. Thursday at the church. Pallbearers will be Barb’s grandsons, Ryan Duginski, Eric Haring, Joshua Whiting, Sr., Keith Graap, Tanner Graap, and Austin Graap. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family would like to thank Ministry Home Care Hospice and Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center for all the loving care and support given to Barb. We would also like to thank all of her friends and family for their special prayers and support.
