The Hatchet boys met their season goal of winning a meet right out of the gate when they knocked off Medford 80-63 last Tuesday.
“All the guys swam really well,” THS coach Marion Kohl said. “Each and every one of the swimmers contributed so the win belongs to the whole team!”
Wins came from: John Lazarz (200 IM, 2:30.92/100 fly, 1:14.69); Joe Nettesheim (50 free, :25.82/500 free, 6:30.64); Vic Ierulli (200 free, 2:40.28); Alex Tollison 100 back, 1:19.72); 400 free relay (Nettesheim, Tollison, Mason Brown, Lazarz, 4:37.57).
The Hatchets also grabbed 6 runner-up finishes and 3 thirds.
Tomahawk welcomed traditionally strong Rhinelander on Thursday and lost 121-47.
Lazarz (100 fly, 1:05.54) and Tollison (100 back, 1:17.25) won events, and Tollison (100 free, 1:05.51), Nettesheim (500 free, 6:23.21) and the 200 medley team (Tollison, Brown, Lazarz, Nettesheim, 2:08.80) placed second.
