Ronald Felix

Ronald Felix, 89, of Gleason (Town of Birch), Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.

Ron was born February 12, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, to Andres and Grace (Hughes) Felix. When he was six years old, the family moved to Prentice, Wisconsin, where his parents operated the Liberty Cafe for a few years. He graduated from Prentice High School in 1955.

In April 1958, Ron enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a radio technician and communications engineer. He was honorably discharged in March 1961.

Ron and his first wife, Bonnie (Swenson) Felix, began their married life in Milwaukee before moving to the Merrill area with their children, Rebecca "Becky" and Dan. There he began a long career with Wisconsin Public Service Corporation, maintaining eight hydroelectric power plants on the Wisconsin and Tomahawk rivers. He retired in June 1997 as Supervisor of Western Hydro Maintenance. Camping and fishing were favorite family activities over the years.

In October 1995, Ron married Kathleen "Kathy" (Bowen) Felix.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Bonnie; a son, Steven, who passed shortly after birth; his second wife, Kathy; and his sister, Denise.

He is survived by his son, Dan, and grandson Tyler (Clare); his daughter, Rebecca "Becky," and grandsons Eric, Jeremy, and Tommy; great-granddaughter Evelyn (Eric's daughter); and his siblings Andy, Donna, Gene (Mary), and Kevin (Thora), along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his step-family: Nicole "Nikki" Walters and her children, Stephanie Kleinschmidt and Cody Walters; Stephanie's children, Isabelle, Oaklynn, and Jason; and Brian (Jamie) Knipfer and their children, Bryce (Amber) Knipfer, Kamron, and Parker; and Bryce and Amber's children, Dawson, Oliver, Silver, and Flynn.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Town of Birch Town Hall, W4762 County Road H, Irma, WI 54442, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. Family and friends are invited to stop by to share memories and stories of Ron
