It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Robert “Bob” Shank Jr. on December 24, 2024 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau WI surrounded by family and close friends.
Robert was born in Salina, KS on September 14, 1961 to Robert E. Shank Sr and Bernice Shank. He grew up on the farm, not only learning how to farm the land and take care of animals, but also a love for riding horses, and the value of hard work. Robert attended Solomon Public school where he graduated in 1979.
In 1985, Robert married Janet and they raised 3 children together. Fulfilling his purpose as a provider they moved several times through the years; each time bettering his knowledge and passion for his career which eventually lead them to Gleason, WI where they have lived for the past 18 years.
Robert was a visionary in his professional life and worked tirelessly to make sure his family was provided for and had everything they needed. He worked for ADM milling as a millwright where he was able to work on his favorite and most memorable project; the refurbishing of the Old Dutch Flour Mill in Wamego, Kansas. He always strived to learn more and advance in his profession; which led him to the development of his own company in 2010, Critical Path Management.
Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends on vacations and during the holidays. He also enjoyed the occasional golf outings, boating, fishing and being a pilot.
Robert is survived by his wife of 39 years Janet Shank, 3 children Angela (Wes) O’Bannon, Christina (Joshua) Jaeger, Robert III (Natasha) Shank. 22 Grandchildren & 2 Great-grandchildren. 3 Brothers Dave Shank of Lincoln, NE, Mark (Lisa) Shank of Redfield, KS, Doug (Ann) Shank of Mandeville, LA and his Mother Bernice Shank.
