Linda Marie (Barney) Pierce, 75, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in Murrayville, Illinois.

She was born December 6, 1950, in Merrill, Wisconsin, to David Barney and Grace (Hanson) Barney.

She married James Pierce on June 25, 1991, in Logan, Utah.

She is survived by her husband, James Pierce; her children, Dale Fleenor, Jeffrey (Roxanne) Fleenor, and Kimberly (Bryan) Eades; grandchildren Courtney Daley, Arron Brunner, Jennifer Mohr, Dalton Fleenor, Tyler Fleenor, Casi (Josh) Young, and Stephen (Sarah) Eades; great-grandchildren Parker Eades and Bria Young; and siblings David (Marcy) Barney, Tina Hipke, Dixie Oberg, and Michelle (Kevin) Kniess, along with step-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Linda loved talking on the phone, especially with her children and her sisters Tina and Dixie. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a way with words that was uniquely her own. She loved coffee, country music and oldies, decorating, creating beautiful things, and adding a little sparkle wherever she could. She especially loved watching Dale and Jeff play music.

Some of Linda’s most precious childhood memories were spent on the farm with her grandparents, Art and Isabel Hanson. She shared a particularly special bond with her grandmother Isabel. Linda was adventurous and always ready to see where the road might take her, whether traveling with James or heading out on a road trip with Kimberly.

Linda was tenacious. She faced serious health challenges throughout her life with remarkable strength, resilience, and humor. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Grace Barney; KiAnn Fleenor; Bruce Hipke; and Steve Oberg.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date.

Her sparkle will be missed.
