The Merrill School Forest will host a family open house on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 1-4 p.m. The open house is a chance for families to enjoy being outside together and try different winter activities.
Activities will include cross country skiing and snowshoeing, sledding, a campfire, sing-along with Mr. Van Straten, tours of the museum and tours of the Cordwood Education Center. The event is sponsored by Merrill Area Public Schools and the Friends of the Forest. There is no charge for participation. All activities are weather dependent.
The Merrill School Forest is located on Hwy. 107, 10 miles north of Merrill, across from Newwood County Park. Parking at the forest is limited, with additional parking available at Newwood Park.
