On March 1, 2024, Merrill Area Community Rides Charity (MACR) presented a $2,213 donation to the Clark family of Merrill to assist with expenses. The donation was made possible from the Feb. 17 Sleds ‘N Jams 2024 event hosted by Northway Club of Merrill.
The donation also marked the fourth year of the organization’s partnership with the Merrill High School (MHS) FAB Lab. MHS students, under the guidance of FAB Lab Director Josh Zalewski, design and produce customized donation checks to be presented by MACR to support recipients. The donation check presented to the Clark Family was designed by MHS Freshman Eli Breunig-Pruesser. His draft design was approved by MACR’s Board of Directors as part of a competitive process among FAB Lab students. This year 14 submissions were presented for consideration. “On behalf of the MACR Board of Directors, thank you so very much, Eli!” said Jeremy Ratliff. “Your efforts and amazing craftsmanship is so very much appreciated!”
Ratliff also extended his thanks to the teacher and program. “Thank you, Mr. Zalewski,” he said. “Our partnership and the amazing work of your young craftsmen means so much to our organization and our support recipients!”
