Chad William Evenson

Chad William Evenson, age 44, of Merrill, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at his home, with his loving parents by his side and while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.  He was born on April 5, 1979 to William and Marilyn (Wetterau) Evenson in Wausau, WI.  Chad attended school in Wausau and Merrill.

Chad had worked at ABC Supply in Wausau, WI for 8 years, starting out loading trucks and driving, working his way to inside sales and becoming a purchasing agent.  He was passionate about his work and loved to mentor co-workers.  Chad was a dedicated employee and will be missed dearly.  When he wasn’t working, Chad spent his time outdoors.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman and all-around sportsman.  Chad was also involved with stock car racing, snowboarding, 4-wheeling, motorcycling, snowmobiling and snowshoeing. He was a skilled mechanic and did most of his own repairs and maintenance on all of his equipment and vehicles, and loved doing it.  He was a very active person that just enjoyed being out in nature and the peace that it brought him.  Chad is remembered as a determined person, that maintained a high level of integrity in everything he did.  He was always honest and was a “straight-shooter”.  Chad will be sadly missed, but he has fought the good fight and has won the race!

Chad leaves behind his parents: William “Bill” and Marilyn Evenson, several aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as many good friends and co-workers, especially Josh Graf, Seth and Kelly Graykowski, Ryan Raatz, Patti Neitke, and many more.  He is further survived by his 4-legged buddies, his dogs: Alvin and Baxter.  Chad is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his sister: Heather Evenson.

A Celebration of Chad’s life will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 4pm – 7pm at the Labor Temple, 318 South 3rd Avenue, Wausau, WI 54401,with a short prayer service at 5pm.  Interment at the Forest View Cemetery, town of Vilas, Langlade County will take place at a later date.
