On Sept 19, 2023, proceeds from the Black Squirrel Scurry Triathlon were donated to the following organizations at Northwoods Veterans Post: $1,600 to VFW Post 1638; $100 to VFW auxiliary; for setting up and staffing the aid stations on the run course and finish line; also to Boy Scout Troop 503 for assisting at the Kayak pull out station, hauling kayaks, and loading kayaks for participants after the race.
