Nathan Meyer, a resident of the Third District in the City of Merrill, was appointed to serve as Alderperson for the Third District at the July 11, 2023, City Council meeting. He will serve until April 2024, at which time the position will be on the ballot for the April election.
Meyer applied for the opening, and the Committee of the Whole recommended Meyer at their July 11 meeting. The City Council then made a motion to approve Meyer to fill the vacancy that was created when Rick Blake resigned from the position to retire. Blake had served as Third District Alderperson since Oct. 9, 2018.
The motion carried, and City Clerk Lori Anderson-Malm gave Meyer the oath of office, with his position as Third District Alderperson to take effect immediately afterward.
Meyer was appointed to the Enrichment Center Committee and the Marketing & Communications Committee.
