Lucille H. Koschmann, age 98, died on April 14, 2023 at home. She was born September 5, 1924 to the late Henry and Emelia Vonderheid in Merrill, WI. Lucille grew up in Merrill and was a child of the Depression Era. She attended the local Merrill schools and went on to attend Lincoln County Normal Teacher College in Merrill. Married John Koschmann 1948 in Merrill, WI and she later moved to Stevens Point. Lucille began her career as a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse. She decided to dedicate her life to family and became a housewife. She was a dedicated volunteer at St. Paul Lutheran School, Head Start teacher and foster parent. She was a founding member of the PALS Club (Promote A Lutheran School). As a result of their efforts St. Paul Lutheran School opened its doors in 1955. The school, with 16 students, was located in the church basement. She proudly attended every 1st day of school church service. Lucille was also an active member of YAHs (Young at Heart) at her church. Lucille will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who was an active and faithful member of St Paul Lutheran Church and School. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping at national, state and county parks, writing short memory stories about her life, sharing Bible stories and gospel messages at nursing homes. She loved to brighten everyone’s day by simply offering a complement; she always had something nice to say.

Lucille leaves a legacy of service to: God, her church and her family. Survivors include her children, Alan (Marcia) Koschmann, Ann (William) Stecky, Jacquelynn (Alejandro) Gasca, and James; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Koschmann; infant son; and brother.

A Funeral Service to commemorate and celebrate her life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at St Paul Lutheran Church. A time of Visitation will precede at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Traditional burial will be held in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery in Merrill, WI. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Paul Lutheran School. Online condolences may be made at www.bostonfuneralhome.net. Family would like to thank Pastor Hulke, Pastor Baumann, Pastor Weden and Compassus Hospice for their care.
