Local author Jim Finucan made a $1,000 donation to the Mac Home, from the sales of his latest memoir set in Merrill, Year of the Smuggler: A Memoir of 1984. Finucans memoirs deal with the effects of homelessness and mental illness that he watched his dad deal with. Finucan will be at the T.B. Scott Library on Feb. 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. for the Author Chat program to discuss the book, answer questions, and sell copies of the book. The public is welcome to attend. His latest release is a follow-up to his earlier book, Wild Counselor: 1977- The Summer of the Hunt. Proceeds from the sale of the book go to the Mac Home.
