On Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, a single-vehicle automobile crash took the life of 52-year-old Renee Jane Kapellusch from the Tomahawk area.
According to a press release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), at 7:52 a.m. on the 26th, the Lincoln County Dispatch Center received multiple calls of a one-vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of Cty. Rd. U and Cty. Rd. A in the Town of Bradley.
LCSO and Tomahawk Fire Department and Tomahawk EMS responded to the scene. “Upon arrival, it was found that the lone female occupant had sustained fatal injuries,” the release said.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the female was driving eastbound on Cty. Rd. U and failed to stop at the stop sign on Cty. Rd. A. The vehicle crossed Cty. Rd. A, entering the ditch on the east side of the road, and struck a group of trees coming to final rest.”
A family dog also died in the crash, the release said.
While still under investigation, speed it believed to be a factor in the crash.
