Gerald “Jerry” Richard Moeck, age 83 of Woodruff, WI passed away on Tuesday, October 18th at Minocqua Health and Rehab. Jerry was born on December 5, 1938 in Merrill, WI the son of Otto and Ella (nee Neubauer) Moeck. He graduated from Wausau High School and later married Judith A. Schneider on June 11, 1960. He worked for Wisconsin Fuel and Light for 30 years and when they were bought by Wisconsin Public Service, he worked for them for 8 months. He also owned and operated Yellow Cab in Wausau and also drove for Herrell Trucking. Jerry was a fisherman at heart, enjoyed playing cards and an avid horse shoe player at Minocqua Health and Rehab. Jerry was always tinkering and fixing things; he loved old cars and had a 1930 Model A.
Jerry is survived by his wife Judith Moeck of Woodruff, WI and by his children Jann Hanke, Jean Moeck and John (Julie) Moeck all of Merrill, WI and by Jay (Jenn) Moeck of Atlanta, GA and by grandchildren Jesse (Brooke) Hanke of Merrill, WI; Jackson (Dessa) Moeck of Wausau, WI; and Maddie and Brice Moeck both of Atlanta, GA and by great grandchildren Rayleigh, Molly, Ellie and James Hanke all of Merrill, WI and by special person Karly Voge, “She made me smile.” And further survived by his sister Janet Soukup of Wausau and by nieces Julie (Tom) Stevenson and Shelly (Pat) Buchkowski and Ashley Soukup and by his brother-in-law Ron Schneider. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Ella Moeck.
Memorial Gathering for Jerry will be held on Saturday, October 22nd from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, WI with a Memorial Service at 11:00 am.
