The following donations were approved and/or accepted at the May 18 Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) Board of Directors meeting:
Donation of funds from an anonymous donor valued at $4,000 to sponsor a Merrill High School student for the Columbia University Summer Program; donation of funds from Jon and Michelle Smith valued at $4,000 for the Merrill High School Bluejay Nest; four gift cards from Auto Jockeys valued at $100 for teacher appreciation at Prairie River Middle School; a check from Patricia Bevier valued at $230 for the MHS Counselors Fund in memory of Judi Bevier-North; shoes and backpacks from St. Vincent De Paul valued at $130 for extra clothing needs at Prairie River Middle School; a book from Marie Rein valued at $20 for Washington Elementary School in memory of Susan J. Hinz; 36 children’s books from Rhonda Bengtson valued at $100 for giving to students at Kate Goodrich Elementary School; and checks from the Family and Friends of Steve Blake valued at a total of $475 for the Letterman’s Club in memory of Steve Blake.
