Celebrate the summer solstice on the River Bend Trail

On Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friends of the River Bend Trail will host a free family fun night to celebrate the summer solstice [the official start of summer] on the River Bend Trail. Most activities will take place at or near the Agra Pavilion at the head of the trail, 100 S. Park St. in Merrill.
The public is invited to participate, rain or shine. Snacks provided by local businesses, live music by Paul and Susanna Gilk, and activities including chalk drawing, plant identification, a scavenger hunt, creating a community sun dial, yoga by Gigi, a craft table provided by the Merrill Enrichment Center, a live mic with T.B. Scott Library staff and guests reciting summer poetry, a table with writing supplies for participants to write their own inspired poetry, and more will round out the evening. There is no charge to participate but donations will be accepted.
Community sponsors and partnerships helping make this event possible including the Merrill Enrichment Center, Lincoln County Health Department, Polka Dotted Pie, T.B. Scott Library, Golden Harvest Market, Be Well Yoga, Helene’s Apple Orchard, Gress Chiropractic, Thrivent (Kelly O’Day), Auntie Rays Coffee House, and Main Street Apothecary.
