David Golisch, Merrill High School Senior, has been named Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 23. David started running Cross Country in the seventh grade and moved to the Varsity level in his Sophomore year. He also runs Track, which he started in the sixth grade, and he became a member of the Varsity Track Team last year as a Junior. At the Marathon Invite at Nine-Mile Recreation Area on Sept. 2, David came in first place for the Merrill Boys with a time of 18.17, coming in fourth place overall.
The son of Clint and Melanie Golisch of Merrill, David is on the honor roll and has a 3.6 GPA. He is a member of St. Stephens church in Merrill and enjoys running, working out at Riverside Athletic, the occasional game of volleyball with friends, and binge watching sitcoms on Netflix. After graduation, he plans to attend a four-year college to study computer science or engineering and to keep running!
