Traffic redirected early Thursday morning

In another incident (unrelated to the train derailment), a semi tractor and trailer were stuck at the Pier Street/Hwy. JJ railroad tracks very early Thursday morning, June 17, when the truck was stopped by the cross arms and couldn’t turn around, according to the Merrill Police Department. With no place to turn around, the semi simply waited and traffic was redirected until the arms were lifted.
No additional information was available, as this has resulted in an active Police investigation stemming from the incident.
