Brea Pieper, Merrill High School (MHS) Senior, has been named Athlete of the Week. Brea has been on the Merrill Bluejays Varsity Dance Team since she was a Freshman. This year, she participated in both hip hop and jazz competitions, went on to Regionals, and the team came in second place at Regionals in hip hop, so they will be going to State for hip hop competition in April, virtually. Brea started dancing when she was 10 and is also involved in hip hop, jazz, lyrical, and pointe at a local dance studio. In addition, Brea also plays softball and will be on the Bluejay Varsity Softball team this year. She signed up to be on the team last year, but softball was canceled, so this will technically be her first year playing.
“I like dancing, playing softball, and hanging with my friends,” Brea said. Typically, they go get something to eat or just hang out at each other’s houses, she added.
Brea is the daughter of Troy Pieper and Gina Pieper of Merrill. She has a 2.44 GPA. After graduation, “I plan on attending UW-Milwaukee for elementary education.” Brea said. She hopes to teach kindergarten in the future.
