Joshua ‘Josh’ Wendt

Joshua ‘Josh’ Wendt, age 41, of Merrill, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 28, 2021.  He was born on February 2, 1980 to John and Teresa (Slewitzke) Wendt in Merrill.  He attended Merrill High School.  Josh was currently employed at Gruett Appliance in Merrill as an appliance installer and repairman. Above all, Josh loved his family, especially his children, he always cherished the time he was able to spend with them, whether it was taking them to his grandpa’s 40 and teaching them to hunt, singing their favorite songs or just hanging out.  He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles and looked forward to being able to ride his Harley and was a huge Dukes of Hazzard fan! Josh was a great sausage maker and loved to smoke meat.  He is remembered by his family and friends as a fun and silly guy that had a huge heart and contagious smile, and the hugs from Josh were always the best.  Josh will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to meet him, but he will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Josh leaves behind his parents: John and Teresa Wendt of Merrill, his children, whom he adored: Tyler, Tayler and Emma Wendt, Mikayla (Julio) Ocampo, with their sons: Adrian and Julian, grandmother: Marvil Slewitzke, close friend & mother to Emma and Mikayla: Sara Hall, good friends: Cory & Gina Schultz, Dave Brown, Troy & Sara Faber, Tony Vandehei, Edie Adams, Rick Schemehorn, Mark Draper and Rob Bergmann, just to name a few, many aunts, uncles and cousins, along with his beloved Great Dane: “Kane”.
