Kamille Ament garners MHS Youth Optimist of the Month

The Youth Optimist for the month of December is Kamille Ament who was nominated by Ms. Kasie Holt.
Ms. Holt comments, “Kamille is a very involved student – both in and out of school. She is very driven and I believe that she puts 110% into everything that she does. Through her strong leadership skills and optimistic attitude, she has helped make our community a better place to be. Kamille is a trustworthy, reliable, and good-humored student and friend who supports others in and out of the classroom. She is always a pleasure to talk to and her positive attitude is an immensely admirable asset. She works hard to find the best in everyone and every situation. Her smile is contagious.” Ms. Holt also adds, “Kamille was selected to attend Badger Girls State this past summer. She came back so enthusiastic about the program and the leadership skills she gained that she wanted to share ideas of how to get more girls involved. Kamille presented and thanked the unit that sponsored her to go, and the unit personally called me to let me know the positive impact Kamille left on them. That is how Kamille is: always bettering herself and those around her.”
School activities that Kamille participates in are Tennis (Heart of a Champion for Work Ethic and Dedication Award, Most Coachable Athlete Award, Varsity Letter Award, Team Captain Award, and Most Valuable Player Award), Softball (Team Captain, Bluejay Award, Teammate Award, and Varsity Letter Award), Voice of Democracy first place winner, American Legion Auxiliary Girls Badger State Delegate, Homecoming Princess, Prom Court, Class Vice President, National Honor Society Treasurer and Athlete of the Week. She also has been involved in Student Council, Link Crew, New Student Committee, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Math League, LEAD, Harry Potter Club, Teachers Assistant, Tutor and Attendance Office Helper.
When she is not in school, Kamille is active with Make A Difference Day, the Church Mutual Christmas Party, Santa’s Workshop, Homecoming Concessions, Children’s Festival Volunteer, Graduation and Senior Award night usher, Senior Celebrations Helper, Cat Socializing and Dog Walking at Humane Society, Establishing Senior Citizen Day at Merrill High School, Football Banquet Server, and St. John’s Youth Group.
Following her high school graduation, Kamille plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh to major in Kinesiology. After that she plans on attending graduate school to become a Physical Therapist. She has thoughts of starting her own Physical Therapy/Sports Medicine practice but is unsure of where that road will take her. Kamille is the daughter of Randy and Tammy Ament.
