MAPS announces December donations

The following donations from the month of December were approved by the MAPS Board of Education at it’s regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
A map of Merrill from Alderman Steve Hass valued at $20.00 for work with special education students at Washington Elementary School; coffee cups from Mr. & Mrs. Haltinner valued at $68.00 for Jefferson’s 2nd grade Christmas project; 21 hardcover scholastic books from the Jefferson PTO valued at $268.46 for student check out at the Jefferson Elementary School library; the following Beyond Crayons and Computers grants from the Merrill Area Community Foundation: $1000.00 for purchasing equipment to create a Jefferson Elementary news show with a community connections focus; and, $1000.00 for Washington Elementary School for funding an explorations expo that will showcase STEAM projects to the community of Merrill; a grant from the Meemic Foundation valued at $50.00 for materials for Jefferson and Washington libraries; art supplies from Mary Jo Laabs valued at $50.00 for using in the art department at Kate Goodrich Elementary School; children’s winter clothing and weighted vests from Little Lakes Memories valued at $500.00 for students at Pine River School for Young Learners; money from Secret Santa valued at $1000.00 for student needs at Prairie River Middle School; school supplies from Church Mutual valued at approximately $1000.00 for students in the Merrill Area Public School District; clothes from Kristin & Collin Bablitch valued at $100.00 for student needs at Prairie River Middle School; and, clothes and gifts from Shawn & LeeAnn Spoon valued at $250.00 for student needs at Prairie River Middle School.
