PRMS hosts district Spelling Bee

The district spelling bee was held at Prairie River Middle School on Tuesday, January 14. Schools represented were: Jefferson, Kate Goodrich, Maple Grove Charter School, PRMS, St. John Lutheran School, St. Francis Catholic School and Washington.
Students attending include: Laci Wirtala, Elayna Olson, Erik Grunenwald, Grace Wegner, Kylie Lutzke, Joseph Servi, Jeannette Albert, Emily Hanson, Wyatt Stieber, Jayden Chase, Robin Schmidt, Shannon O’Malley, Mitchell Moran, Sebastian Trevino, Carter Stingel, Chase Klebenow, Kaiden Ratzlaff, Gracie Wyma, Clayton Evans, Sebastian Ollmann, Dylan Smith, Emilie English, Keeley Benedict, Janna Jacobson, Emily Wiesneski, Brayden Mueller, Theo Johnson, Molly White, Isabel Wendt, Addison Pickard and Izabella Klockow.
The spelling bee began with a 25 written word contest for all contestants, with the top ten from the written contest moving on to the oral portion.
Top ten finishers include:
Jayden Chase, Clayton Evans, Izabella Klockow, Robin Schmidt, Emily Hanson, Kylie Lutzke, Carter Stingel, Jeannette Albert, Isabel Wendt and Kaiden Ratzlaff.
The top four spellers from the oral portion include:
Alternate: Jeannette Albert
3rd Place: Kaiden Ratzlaff
2nd Place: Emily Hanson
1st Place: Carter Stingel
