Merrill Police Department Calls for Service

December 2
At 1:15 p.m., an officer met with a caller who was reporting a stand stolen from in front of their door in their apartment complex. The officer is attempting to determine who is responsible forthe theft.

At 7:33 p.m., an officer investigated a complaint that a male had threatened to shoot a female and her new boyfriend. It was reported that after a Christmas concert a male had confronted his ex-girlfriend and the threats were made. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

December 3
At 1:13 p.m., an officer responded to the office of Probation and Parole for a request to take a male party into custody for a probation violation. The male party was taken into custody and booked into Lincoln County Jail.

At 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the Lincoln County Social Services building for a report of a male party at the location with a warrant from Marathon County Circuit Court. The male party was located and taken into custody.

December 4
At 12:46 a.m., officers responded to a domestic incident. The male suspect had fled on foot prior to officers’ arrival. During the investigation, it was determined this was not a domestic but the male suspect did have an active warrant for his arrest. The male party was located by officers and he fled on foot. He was detained a short time later and was arrested for obstructing an officer and the active warrant.

December 5
At 11:00 a.m. a student was cited for disorderly conduct after becoming disruptive in the school office, yelling and using profane language.

At 1:00 p.m. the Wisconsin Department of Corrections requested officer attempt to locate a probationer who was reported to have been consuming intoxicants in violation of his probation rules. An officer located the man, confirmed he had indeed been drinking. He was arrested or a probation violation.

At 1:48 p.m. a business reported receiving a call from a male attempting to use a credit card to have items shipped to Puerto Rico. The credit card was unable to be processed. In the meantime the true owner of the credit card called the business after receiving a fraud alert from his credit card company. He confirmed he had not attempted to place the order. Investigation is ongoing. The victim did not suffer a loss of any money.

At 3:24 p.m. a female was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

December 6
At 9:41 p.m., officers were dispatched to a dual residence on Prospect St. for a report of the downstairs neighbor banging on the wall and yelling. Officers made contact with the downstairs neighbor who admitted to the alleged actions and stated that their actions were in response to the loud walking of the upstairs neighbor. Both upstairs and down stairs tenants were advised to be respectful of each other and warned that further actions could result in law enforcement action.

December 7
At 5:32 p.m. an officer on patrol observed a vehicle stopped in a parking lot with the driver’s side door open and a female passed out in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running. The female was checked on and signs of impairment were present. The female believed she was at a hotel in Wausau. The female was arrested for OWI 2nd offense and a probation hold for violating a no drink clause as a part of her probation.

December 8
At 4:53 p.m., officers responded along with the Merrill Fire Department to a report of a house fire in the area of Crescent Dr. and Glen Dr. All parties within the house were found to be safe and fire department personnel located and exterminated the fire located in the wall of the residence.
