Merrill High School junior Caleb DeJong is a two-time letter earner on the Merrill football team, where he starts at quarterback. In the 2019 season DeJong led the Bluejay offense in rushing yards and touchdowns, on his way to receiving Second Team All-Great Northern Conference honors. In the spring, DeJong plays on the MHS varsity baseball squad, where he earned his first letter last year.
Outside of sports DeJong stays involved at school, participating in LEAD, Earth Club, Link Crew and Big Brothers Big Sisters. On his free time DeJong enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and hanging out with friends.
Son of Jessica and Jared DeJong of Merrill, Caleb maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA. Following graduation in spring of 2021, DeJong plans on attending a four-year university, however does not know what he wants to study yet.
