Ramona M. Burrows, 91, of Merrill, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill, with her family by her side. Ramona was born August 31, 1928 in Merrill, daughter of the late Henry and Emily ‘Millie’ (Lippert) Juedes. She married Arthur V. ‘Shorty’ Burrows, Jr. on June 7, 1947 in Merrill. He preceded her in death April 16, 2005. Ramona had been employed at Pine Crest Nursing Home for 17 years as an Activity Aid. She enjoyed the Packers and Brewers, sewing, feeding the birds, attending her grandkids sporting events, and spending time with her family.
Ramona is survived by her daughter, Penny (Mike) Hommerding of Merrill; her son, Mike (Joy) Burrows of Merrill; five grandchildren, Neil (Stacia) Burrows of Stratford, and Nicole (Troy) Hinz, Nancy (Jason) Stadler, Robert (Joyce) Hommerding, and Christopher Hommerding, all of Merrill; eight great grandchildren, Heather, Courtney, Nathanial, Ethan, Olivia, Lydia, Trevor, and Cameron; and one step great grandchild, Jesse. Besides her husband and parents, Ramona is preceded in death by her siblings Robert, Lawrence, and Edwin Juedes, Mildred Peters, Yvonne Mahn, Emgard Kleinschmidt, and LaVerne Wenzlick.
A Memorial Service for Ramona M. Burrows will begin at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 26, 2019 at St. Stephens United Church of Christ, Merrill. The Rev. Lucas Williams will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Merrill Memorial Park Columbarium. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Thursday at the church.
