Milton L. Peterson, age 71, of Gleason, passed away at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on Tuesday, Sept 17, 2019 with his wife of 40 years holding his hand. Milt was born in Merrill, the oldest son of Norman & Elayne Peterson. He married Linda Kraft on September 1, 1979. Milt was an avid hunter & fisherman; he loved being with his nieces & nephews (both biological & honorary) in the woods, & taking them fishing. Milt was an over-the-road truck driver for 36 years, driving over 4 million miles, with no accidents in his career.
Milt is survived by his wife Linda; his brother Jay Peterson of Glendale (Jane); sister Norlane Peterson of North Carolina; sister-in-law Diane Peterson of Merrill; step mother Jane Peterson of Rhode Island; & many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Norman Reed Peterson, his parents, & brother Steve Peterson. He will be fondly remembered by many people, especially his hunting & fishing buddies, & his Sunday night card group in Gleason.
A private memorial was held Saturday, September 21, 2019.
