According to information released by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, 78-year old John Renken-the second of two parties involved in a Feb. 14 Town of Pine River shooting- has died.
According to information previously released by the sheriff’s office; at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb.14, deputies responded to what they believed to be a welfare check at a residence on Range Line Road in the Town of Pine River. When deputies arrived on scene, 77-year old Barbara Renken was located inside the residence, deceased. John Renken was found critically injured from a gunshot wound. John Renken had reportedly been hospitalized since the incident.
As part of a press release Monday, the Sheriff’s Office indicated the incident remains under investigation as a homicide. “At this time, there are no other suspects in the case. The incident continues to be considered an isolated incident and the Sheriff’s Office does not believe the community to be in danger.”
