A 42-year-old Merrill man is facing charges of causing injury by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle after deputies investigated a motor vehicle crash Monday in the Town of Merrill.

A 34-year-old Tomahawk man was arrested and cited following a traffic stop early Monday morning in the Town of Bradley. A deputy stopped the vehicle for traveling at 91 MPH on the highway at 1:16 a.m. A check showed he was wanted by the Oneida County Sheriff for contempt of court. The driver was cited for speeding, operating on a suspended license and taken into custody for the warrant.

A 36-year-old Merrill man was injured and will face criminal charges following a UTV crash Monday morning in the Town of Schley. A rifle was in the UTV at the time of the crash and a check showed the man was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a previous felony conviction.

Two people were injured following a single vehicle rollover Wednesday morning in the Town of Birch on USH 51 at 10 a.m.

Two people are in the Lincoln County Jail after deputies interrupted a burglary in progress Friday evening in the Town of Scott. Just after 9 p.m. deputies responded to the home after receiving a report of an alarm. The pair were charged with felony counts of burglary, theft and receiving stolen property along with possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia. The pair were also wanted on felony warrants through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for violating the terms of their probation.

Sheriff Jeff Jaeger is reminding you to be cautious on the roadways this holiday season and not drink and drive. His deputies will be conducting focused patrols into the New Year as they seek to keep impaired and reckless drivers off the roadways. If you are travelling please be sure to watch your speed, wear your seatbelt and use a designated driver.

The number of deer crashes has increased with 20 being reported this week.
