Merrill Police reports

December 22
10:09 a.m.- Officers were dispatched to Probation and Parole for a Probation Violation. The male was taken into custody for the Probation Violation along with bail jumping and a Harassment injunction.
11:26 a.m.- Officers were dispatched to a social service call were the male had a warrant through Lincoln County. The male was taken into custody and a charge for resisting an officer was added.
9:06 a.m.- Officers were dispatched to a disorderly conduct complaint. A female was taken into custody for a warrant.

December 23
7:08 p.m.- Officers responded to a local business for a report of a person stealing shopping baskets. A description of the suspect’s vehicle was gathered as the suspect left the business. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and make contact with the suspect. The female admitted to taking the shopping baskets and turned them over to officers. The female was cited for retail theft.

December 25
12:44 p.m.- An officer conducted a traffic stop on North Cottage Street. The driver was found to have a warrant for their arrest. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the jail.
3:31 p.m.- Officers took a report of a hit and run that had occurred on Wisconsin Street. Officers were advised by several neighbors of description of the vehicle as well as its last known direction of travel. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and eventually make contact with the owner who confirmed that he was the operator. He was cited for operating without a valid license, no insurance and hit and run. A sign and a tree were struck by the vehicle.
