Merrill Public Works Director Rod Akey advises that the intersection of Sixth and Pier streets will remain closed today until 4 p.m. for construction work. The intersection was expected to be closed for just one day, yesterday, but a machinery breakdown caused the delay and the work will require another day to complete.
