Dolores “Lorrie” Springer

Dolores “Lorrie” Springer, age 80, of Merrill, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Pine Crest Nursing Home. She was born April 19, 1936 in the town of Maine to the late Winifred and Bertha (Braun) Beilke. Lorrie and Michael Springer were united in marriage on October 17, 1981 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Merrill. He survives.

Lorrie worked at WCA industries as a machine operator for many years. She lived for her family, grandkids and great-grandkids. Lorrie also enjoyed spending time gardening and going to the lake. She loved her church and enjoyed being a member there.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 35 years: Michael Springer, Merrill; five children: Debra David, Merrill, Gayle Schulz, Jefferson, WI, Lori (Jerry) Hoock, Merrill, Barb (Jody) Grawien, and Rob (Pam) Hofmann, Burnsville, MN; 15 grandchildren: Nathan, Ryan, Kevin, Aaron, Brian, Matt, Goeff, Lindsey, Bradley, Christopher, Jennifer, Clarissa, Greg and Andy; one step-granddaughter: Stacy; 21 great-grandchildren: two step-great-granddaughters: one brother: Rueben Beilke; two sisters: Bette Koeffler and Ruth (Bud) Schumacher; two sisters-in-law: Milly Murphy and Doris Esterbrook;  mother-in-law: Eleanor Springer; brother-in-law; Joel(Laura) Springer, and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Winifred and Bertha Beilke; half-brother: Art Fust; half-sister; Leona Fust-Lipke; brothers: Donald, Earl, Frank, James, Roy, and Gerald Beilke, and an infant brother, sisters: Helen Bielke-Stearhs, Verna Bielke-Haas, Leona Beilke, and Irene Beilke-Mursa; grandson: Jason Grawien; and a brother-in-law: Roy Springer.

The funeral liturgy for Dolores will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Waid Funeral Home. Fr. James Horath will perform the funeral liturgy. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Thursday, July 14, 2016 and again from 10 AM until the time of service on Friday, all at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rev. Dennis Creswell for his heartfelt prayers and visits.
