Sheriff employee retires

Lincoln County Sheriff Jeff Jaeger has announced the retirement of longtime Corrections Sgt. Tom Seslar. Sgt. Seslar officially hung up his keys on Jan. 7, 2016 after over 30 years of service.
Seslar was hired by then-Sheriff Ron Krueger on May 7, 1985. At the time, Seslar was among a group of four that was hired solely for the purpose of performing functions of guarding prisoners. A Tomahawk native, Tom worked many different shifts in the jail over the years before being promoted to Correctional Sgt. in 2002.
At a recent staff meeting, Seslar was presented with a retirement gift on behalf of the county and his fellow employees joined him for a luncheon on Thursday, his last day in uniform.
“Tom was always a dedicated professional who was admired by his peers. Many of the Correctional Officers on staff were trained by Tom and they respect his years of service and knowledge of the job. Having to interact with literally thousands of prisoners over the years, Tom gained the respect of everyone, including the prisoners,” Sheriff Jaeger stated.
Sheriff Jaeger and his entire staff wish Tom and his wife Sue well as they both retire in the same week and begin the next chapter of their life.
