Mary Lou A. Gruetzmacher

Mary Lou A. Gruetzmacher, age 80, of Merrill, died Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Pine Crest Nursing Home.
Mary Lou was born November 9, 1934, in Merrill, daughter of the late Walter H. and Amanda M. Gruetzmacher. She was a graduate of Merrill Senior High School and the former Lincoln County Normal School. Mary Lou had taught elementary education for 30 years. She had also been employed with Lincoln County Social Services and at the former J&J Bakery, Merrill. She retired in December of 2008. Mary Lou was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Irma. She was also a member of the ‘Senior Friendship Club’ and the Lincoln County Chapter of Citizens for Decency. Mary Lou was an avid reader and had her own personal library of books. She enjoyed collecting recipes, gardening, stamp collecting, listening to Christian radio and practicing her strong Christian faith.
Survivors include her brother and sister in law, Warren and Kathleen Gruetzmacher of Merrill; and eight nieces and nephews, Dominic (Cecilia) Gruetzmacher, Wausau, Amanda (Everett) Herdt, Merrill, Benedict (Jessica) Gruetzmacher, Merrill, Anthony Gruetzmacher, Merrill, Raymond (Samantha) Gruetzmacher, Weston, Quintin (Rebekah) Gruetzmacher, Medford, and Gilbert and Monica Gruetzmacher, both of Merrill.
The funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Mr. Stephen Tiffany will officiate. Burial will follow in Springbrook Cemetery, Town of Pine River. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
