Margie “Marge” L. Rick

Margie “Marge” L. Rick, age 62, of Merrill, passed away after a short battle with cancer on July 2, 2015 at her home under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. She was born May 1, 1953 in Merrill to the late Walter & Margaret (Kottman) Severt. She married Duane Rick on November 14, 1981 in Merrill. He preceded her in death September 30, 2000.
Marge attended Merrill Senior High School. She was a feisty but very loving person who helped anybody and everybody. Throughout the years Marge worked at Wire Products, Bethesda, 51 Truck Stop, Legends and then Jimbo’s for a while before retiring. She enjoyed playing cards, playing pool and going to the casino, cheering on the Packers and watching NASCAR races. Marge loved family gatherings and always had lots of baked goodies for everyone. She was a great cook and baker and made wonderful meals. Marge was master of chocolate chip peanut butter cookies and always made fudge at Christmastime. She loved telling jokes. Marge loved her late dog “Lucky Dog” and enjoyed caring for other dogs especially the late Adakis and Kilo. She also loved birdwatching outside her window. Marge was a special aunt to all her nieces and nephews and many others. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her fiancé of 13 years: Tom Huber; two sisters: Sharon Zaske and Sandy (Gerald) Hull; brother-in-law: Tom Young; seven nephews: Tom, Tim, Pat Hehling, Jerry (Verena) Hull, Jack (Lori) Hehling, Steve (Sheila) Severt and Bill Severt; three nieces: Tammy (Scott) Schreiber, Rebecca Hehling and Kim (Tim) Nowak; and many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Margaret Severt; husband: Duane Rick; three siblings: Shirley Severt, Ron Severt & Bonnie Hehling-Young; two brothers-in-law: Robert Hehling and Jim Zaske; three nephews: J. Allen, Chris and Jeffrey Zaske; one niece: Elizabeth Hehling and two great-nieces: Makenna Hehling and Jessica Stringer.
Funeral Services for Marge will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Waid Funeral Home. Chaplain Sandy Hamburg will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Marge sent to the funeral home will be appreciated. Waid Funeral Home of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.
