Emogene E. Krause, age 88, of the Town of Berlin, Marathon County, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Woodland Court Elder Services, Merrill.
Emogene was born November 30, 1926, in the Town of Berlin, daughter of the late Walter and Alma (Klebenow) Zamzow. She married Edgar E. Krause on September 1, 1948, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-Naugart, Town of Berlin. He survives. Emogene was a farm wife and homemaker. She enjoyed managing the farm with her husband, gardening, cooking and canning, and listening to polka music.
Survivors include her husband, Edgar E. Krause, Town of Berlin; her daughter, Joline (Mark) Bartelt, Merrill; one grandson, Adam Bartelt; two great grandchildren, Daisy and Levi Bartelt; and a sister in law, Phyllis (LaVern) Kottke, Athens. Besides her parents, Emogene is preceded in death by an infant daughter, June Krause; and her in laws, Sylvia (Wilbert) Sturm, Lorenz (Lavine) Krause, Lavila (Elroy) Schmidt, and Gilbert (Phyllis) Krause.
The funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 23, 2015, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-Naugart, Town of Berlin. The Rev. Nathan Biebert will officiate. Burial will take place Tuesday morning in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
