Dale M. Erickson, a long-time resident of Shell Lake, WI, passed away at his home on Aug. 31, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Dale was born Jan. 21, 1960 in Rhinelander, WI, raised in Brantwood, WI and after an adventurous life residing in Florida, Texas, and Georgia, settled in the Wisconsin northwoods.
Dale was an avid fisherman and hunter; a master carpenter and craftsman; and loved to sing and play his guitar. Dale is survived by his young son, Gary Erickson; one sister, Tami (Robert) Masuca of Vernon Hills, IL; three nieces: Bridgette (Mark) Hassel, Andrea (Chris) Marlowe and Angie (Shawn) Merkel all of Merrill, WI; and one nephew, Justin Lorbecke of Wausau, WI; several grand-nieces and nephews; and step-children, Brittany Janowiec and Joshua Wistrom of Shell Lake. Dale was preceded in death by his father and mother, Norbert and Myrtle Erickson; brothers, Richard and Gary Erickson; and sister Denise (nee Erickson) Gruetzmacher.
A Memorial Celebration was held at the beach in Shell Lake, WI on Sept. 7.
