Dennis “Denny” Mann, age 73, died on March 1, 2014 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston.
Denny was born on April 13, 1940 to the late Mason and Emily Mann in Racine, WI. He attended high school in Racine, before joining the Navy. In his younger years, Denny was an excellent saxophone and clarinet player and would enjoy listening to his Big Band music on the radio. As a young man, Denny really enjoyed golf and would spend much of his time on the golf course, enjoying a good time with friends. Denny was known to “dream big” about many things in his life. He enjoyed shooting pool with his buddies and even joined some pool leagues and participated in some tournaments. Denny owned and operated a local bar called the “Bowery.”  He would also spend his time cutting meat for local deli’s. He was a member of the Mason’s Lodge here in Merrill. Denny enjoyed watching racing on TV. He really enjoyed harassing and teasing his nurses at the Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill; they were always such good sports about it! He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his children: son, Andy (Kristen) Mann of Merrill; daughter, Michele Mann of Madison; and son, Tony (Jolene) Mann of Merrill; grandchildren, Alex and Erik; step-grandchildren, Joshua, Ryan, Eric and Andrew; brother, John (Rose) Mann of Brunswick, OH.  Preceded in death are his parents and brother, Tommy Mann of Racine.
To honor Denny’s wishes, there will be no public services. Family will have a gathering at a later date.
Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
