A 51-year-old Milwaukee County man was found dead Sunday morning in the Town of Bradley.
At 8:55 a.m., a witness called 911 to report finding the man’s body on Smith Lake, off of Nibler Rd. north of the City of Tomahawk.
Tomahawk Firefighters and Tomahawk EMS along with deputies responded to the scene and recovered the man’s body. It was found floating in the lake near an unoccupied boat. The victim was identified as Michael A. Kontowicz of Glendale, WI.
The Lincoln County Coroner responded to the scene and pronounced Kontowicz dead. An autopsy was conducted on Monday to help determine the cause.
According to a witness, Kontowicz went out early Sunday morning by himself to go fishing on the lake. No life jacket was found at the scene.
The Wisconsin DNR also investigated at the scene.
