Stepping Up to the Challenge
Have you ever felt like it was a long jump from grassy area down to the beach at the Council Grounds State Park? This will no longer be an issue with the newly installed steps. The steps were built on March 31 as part of Andrew Koch’s Eagle Scout project. the steps were especially constructed for beach use.
Troop 599 Scout, Andrew Koch,organized this endeavor with the help of 9 scouts and 3 leaders. There were several other work sessions prior to the installation as well. Planning and obtaining project approval are also an important steps in the trail to becoming an Eagle Scout.
Andrew Koch has been part of Boy Scout Troop 599 for five years. He has helped with other Eagle projects through years. This sophomore at Merrill High School is currently serving as the Senior Patrol Leader for the troop. He hopes to complete all of the steps and receive his Eagle Scout award.
