BSA Lincoln County Jamboree a success

The Lincoln County area Boy Scout units had their very first annual Lincoln County Jamboree. A fun campout with five friendly competitions including flag football, tug-o-war, gate construction, Dutch oven cook-off and a memory game to test their wits.

The event was held at the Council Grounds State Park campground. The jamboree drew over 100 participants including over 45 Scouts. Scouts entered from Troop 507 of Gleason, Troop 599 with members from Irma and Merrill, and Troop 503, also of Merrill.

After a full day of fun, fellowship and food, the overall winner of the competitions was announced. The coveted Wooden Axe Award went to the boys from Troop 503, chartered by the VFW Post in Merrill.
