Marcus Sturm

Marcus Otto Sturm, age 95, of Merrill, died Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.

He was born on November 14, 1915, in the Town of Maine, son of the late Albert and Ella Sturm. He married Lillie Rusch on August 22, 1936. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2005.
Marcus farmed in the Town of Maine, and was the owner of Sturm Trucking, Inc. until 1976. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Town of Maine for many years. Marcus enjoyed playing cards and taking trips to the casino. Both he and Lillie enjoyed many winters in Bradenton, Florida.
Survivors include his two sons, Kenneth (Joy) Sturm, Merrill, and Gary Sturm, Wildomar, CA; four grandchildren, Sherry (Glen) Schuelke and Kay (Ted) Tautges, both of Merrill, Kerry Laabs, Marathon City, and Laurie (Ron) Rehlinger, Plover; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandsons; and one brother, Clarence Sturm, Franklin, TN. Marcus is preceded in death by one son, Donald; one grandson, Michael; and two brothers, Wesley and Raymond.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 20, 2010, at Faith Lutheran Church, Town of Maine. The Rev. Alden J. Beversdorf will officiate. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Town of Maine. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 9:00 A.M. Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Faith Lutheran Church, or the church or charity of one’s choice.
The family wishes to thank Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services and the staff at Pine Crest Nursing Home for the care they gave to Marcus.
