Two people were taken into custody Tuesday afternoon following a traffic stop in the Town of Russell. The passenger, a 46-year-old Crandon man, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and the driver, a 35-year-old Rhinelander woman, was taken into custody for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

A 26-year-old Gleason man was arrested Tuesday evening after deputies responded to a disturbance in the Town of Russell just after 11 p.m. The man was charged with disorderly conduct and battery.

An 18-year-old Merrill woman was arrested Friday evening after a disturbance in the Town of Merrill just before 7 p.m. The woman was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of battery.

A 19-year-old Merrill man suffered non-life threatening injuries after a two vehicle crash Sunday evening in the Town of Pine River. Law enforcement responded to US Hwy. 51 near County Rd. G just after 5 p.m. One lane of the highway was closed off for about half an hour while the wreck was cleared.

The number of deer crashes has gone up significantly with eight being reported this past week.
